SHARK ST PARTNERS DIES OF COLIC...

 

Snow Ridge Farm is sad to announce the death of their stallion,

SHARK ST PARTNERS, P,3, 1:50.4M, $347,194.

 

One of Michigan's more popular sires, SHARK ST PARTNERS was recently discovered to have a large internal growth that was soon to be diagnosed as a very large bladder stone, approximately the size of a small volleyball.

 

In August, he underwent two serious operations and two weeks recovery at the Michigan State University Veterinary Hospital in Lansing, Michigan.  Subsequent post surgery testing proved SHARK ST PARTNERS to be sterile.

 

SHARK ST PARTNERS was previously owned by Salerno-Trezza Partners and Steve Salerno.  His career included winning multiple NJSS races, a division of the Smullin Stakes, a Hoosier Cup elimination and multiple Open Class winner at Pocono Downs.  At 4 he was named Pocono Downs Horse of the Year.

 

The 2008 saw his third crop hit the tracks.  His current fastest offspring is SHARK DRESSED MAN, P,3, 1:53.0F, who is a Michigan State Record Holder with a mark of 1:55.1 over a county fair track.

 

SHARK ST PARTNERS recovered from his surgeries and was living his retirement out at Snow Ridge Farm.  Sadly, in early January, he came down with a bad case of Colic and had to be euthanized.

RACING HIGHLIGHTS

    • SHARK ST PARTNERS competed successfully against the best colts in North America, beating horses like ART'S CONQUEST, THE PANDEROSA, SPACE SHUTTLE, GRINFROMEARTOEAR and FALCONS ICON.

     

    • Winner of 24 races, including 3 straight N.J. Sire Stakes wins.  One in which he earned his lifetime mark of 1:50.4 (pictured below).

     

    • Won a division of the Smullin Stakes at Rosecroft, taking a two year old record of 1:54.

     

    • Placed 2nd in the Goshen Cup at the Meadowlands.

     

    • Won a Hoosier Cup Elimination in 1:51.1 beating "Grinfromeartoear." See Video above.

     

    • Won the open at Pocono Downs many times at 4 and was named, "POCONO DOWNS HORSE OF THE YEAR."
